Overfields Primary School - SEN Teaching Assistant

The Governing Body of Overfields Primary School wish to appoint a SEN Teaching Assistant for our Speech and Language Unit, with a start date of September 2022. We are looking for a talented and dynamic TA who is committed to making a real difference to the lives of the children in our school. 

The post is a permanent part time position.  30hrs per week at Grade D Term Time only plus 5 PD Days

Salary Scale Grade D Point 8 – 11 £14794 - £18056 Actual Salary

The Speech and Language Unit provides provision for pupils on a full time and part time basis.  It consists of:

  • Foundation Stage 4 place part time support base
  • KS2 10 place full time support base
  • KS1 10 place full time support base
  • Outreach Provision 10 place

Children are fully integrated with support on an afternoon into mainstream classes at Overfields Primary School.

There is an expectation that the successful candidate may provide outreach sessions to children in Redcar and Cleveland and Middlesbrough schools.

The successful candidate will be a flexible member of a team of three teaching assistants and three SEN teachers.  The post will be initially based within the Early Years however experience in both KS1 & KS2 would be an advantage as the teaching assistant will also support language unit pupils throughout school on an afternoon. This post offers an exciting opportunity to contribute towards the extension and further development of an already outstanding provision.

Trust School Improvement Lead L11 - 15 0.6FTE - 3 days per week

Ad Astra Academy Trust and Ironstone Academy Trust are seeking to appoint an excellent Trust School Improvement Lead, who can continue the improvement of teaching and learning across both Trusts. This post will have a separate 0.3 FTE contract of employment with each individual Trust, and will work with the School Improvement Teams across both Trusts. Whilst the focus during the 0.3 FTE with each Trust, will be the individual Trust, this post does allow for developing more collaborative working across both of our growing organisations. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious school leader to undertake this key strategic role. The actual working schedule will be agreed via negotiation with the successful candidate.

This post is to commence on 1st January 2023, or earlier if possible.

The successful candidate will work in partnership with the Headteachers across both Trusts to lead on an exciting journey to help all Schools within both Trusts to provide an inspirational education for all, helping every child to achieve the very best that they can.

This post would ideally suit a teacher or leader that has led on teaching and learning; co-ordinated assessment or curriculum development within their own school, an Academy Trust, Local Authority or have been a Specialist Leader in Education for example.

The post provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to add significant experience of working for two developing, innovative and forward-thinking academy trusts.
